I found these notebooks in Lianzhou (Canton, China) in a small store on the way to the Candy Factory. Forming two columns, a lot of these were in a table, next to cigarette packages, snacks, plastic bottles of water, little "tetrapack" flavored milks, roller pens, pencils and eraser gums.
Interesting is the graphic design of every cover, but also these particular grids for studying. Specially, the diagonal, vertical and horizontal lines that form a precise matrix for the learning of Chinese characters.
